William A. Rowell Sr. William A. Rowell Sr., 78, co-owner of the Woodstock-based Guardian Electric Manufacturing Co., died Friday in Evanston Hospital. Mr. Rowell lived in Lincoln-wood for 32 years before moving to Glenview 11 years ago. In 1937 his father founded the Woodstock-based manufacturing company, which produces relays. Mr. Rowell began his career at Guardian Electric as a stock boy and moved his way up the ranks, to eventually co-own the company. Survivors include his wife, Vera; four sons, Frank, William, Thomas and James; a daughter, Joan; a brother; and nine grandchildren. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in Our Ladv of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1123 Church St., Glenview.
