He was president of the village of Hinsdale from 1961 to 1965, and a village trustee for four years prior to that. He was also a past-president of Hinsdale Golf Club, and the Economic Club of Chicago, and a past-chairman of the Chicago Heart and the Robert Crown Center for Health Education. He has been a director of Rockwell Int'l, Nalco Chemical Interlake Amsted Industries, Bliss and Laughlin, and American National Bank Trust Co. of Chicago, a trustee of Illinois Institute of Technology, and Goodwill Industries, and an elder of Community Presbyterian Church of Clarendon Hills.

He was a 1932 B.A. graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was awarded an honorary LL.D. degree. He received a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School In 1935.

He Is survived by his wife Cornelia; his brother Paul W. (Lucille) Coultrap; his daughters Glnna (George) Kline, and Barbara (Richard) Zachar; his son James W. Coultrap and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 21, at Community Presbyterian Church, 39 N. Prospect, Clarendon Hills, at 10 a.m.

By Kenan Heise Tribune Staff Writer George W. Burke, 54, director of public affairs for Public Communications Inc. (PCI), was the former community events director for the Tribune and secretary of the Chicago World's Fair 1992 Corp. and its successor, the Chicago World's Fair 1992 Authority. A resident of Downers Grove, he died at home Monday.

In 1980, Mr. Burke became one of the initiators of the plan for holding a world's fair in Chicago in 1992 on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Columbus arriving in America. His contributions included making the audiovisual presentation before the international fair officials in Paris. It helped them select Chicago as the initial site for the fair, which was eventually held in Barcelona, Spain. Mr.

prior to his moving to Sterling in 1967, where he worked as an insurance broker, He was also a member of the Temple Sholom of Sterling, the Sterling Rock Falls Elks Lodge 1218 and the Sterling American Legion Post 296. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Sterling; three sons, Kevin S. Eatman, Marc H. Eatman and Loren K. (Joy) Eatman; one daughter, Beverly (James) Flynn; one brother, Leo Eatman; one sister, Minnie Strauss; three grandchildren, Dylan, Janna and Seth and several nieces and nephews.
