She was reared and educated in Chicago. She was a graduate ot Harlan High School and Northwestern University. She held a BS and MD degree from Northwestern. After becoming a licensed Pediatrician, she went on to Yale University where she received a M.D. In Child Psychia try.

She was presently the director of Psychiatric Services, King County Detention Center, an acting Assistant Professor at the University of Washington Medical School and Instructor and Course Coordinator at Children's Hospital, Seattle, Wash ington. Maria was a dedicated physician and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She is survived bv her husband.
