Mrs. Rumble also traveled to Europe as a performer and sang in two concerts presented before the pope. A graduate of the North Shore Day School in Winnetka, she received degrees in theater and voice from Stephens College and bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Michigan.

She was a member of the school's young apprentice program Mrs. Rumble also taught piano and singing. Survivors include her husband, Edgar a daughter, Victoria; a sister; and a brother. Memorial services were held in Youngstown, Ohio. By Kenan Heise Tribune Staff Writer Deborah Dunn Rumble, 46, a mezzo-soprano, performed with several Chicago opera companies in the 1970s and early 1980s.

A resident formerly of Win-netka and since 1984 of Poland, Ohio, she died in Ohio July 15. She sang in Chicago under her maiden name, Deborah Dunn. Among her performances in Chicago were as Nancy in "Martha," for the Chicago Opera Theater; Cherubino in the "Marriage of Figaro" and Dido in "Aeneas," with Chicago Opera Repertoire; and Lehrbub in "Die Meisters-inger," with the Lyric Opera of Chicago. While performing in Chicago she was a commodities broker. After moving to Ohio, she sang it Ethel Clare, longtime volunteer in northwest and north suburbs By Kenan Heise Tribune Staff Writer Ethei Clare, 90, a homemaker in the northwest suburbs, was a volunteer in her church and community since the 1930s.

A resident from 1938 to 1977 of Arlington Heights and after that of Park Ridge, she died Saturday in Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. "She was a grand old lady who never turned anybody down," said her son-in-law, Richard Cameron. Mrs. Clare was a founder of Northwest Community Hospital and an original member of its auxiliary board. She also was one of the founders of Clearbrook Center and, through First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, volunteered for many years at the Presbyterian Homes in A native of Squire, she moved to Chicago with her late husband, Carl, in the early 1930s.

Survivors include a daughter, Valdine Cameron; a sister; a grandson; and two great-grand- Ethel Clare A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Richard Erhardt, age 74, of River Forest, husband ol Mildred, nee Mackovlch; father ot Michael (Adele). BLUMENFELD Arnold "Arnie" E. Blumenfeld, beloved husband of Zelda, nee Cooper; devoted father of Howard Blumenfeld, Bonnie (Lowell) Meyers and Karen (Scott) Wood; cherished grandfather of seven. Arnie grew up in Rogers Park and graduated from Senn High School In 1929. He was All State in track and field and majored In journalism at the University of Michigan under an athletic scholarship. He was touched by many people during his life. He was a board member of B.B.Y.O. with Judge Abraham Marovitz. He was also a member of many sales associations of which he took part. He was unconditionally loving and caring and had the upmost dignity for his entire life.

His family was the most Important part of hia life, especially his grandchildren, Lindsey, Tobey and Casey; brother of the late Albert (Jewel) Blumenfeld of Suttons Bay, Ml; hia nephew Sanford "Butch" and niece Bobbie were also very dear to him.
