She was born in New York City, but lived and worked in Chicago, IL for many years as a legal secretary for Chapman Cutler law firm. She moved to San Mateo in 1969 and continued office work until her retirement at age 80. Beatrice had a positive outlook, a great sense of humor, was an outstanding cook, and had a lifelong love off reading. She is survived by her sons Thomas, James and Richard; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. As the center of her large extended familyk, Beatrice is sorely missed.

He graduated from Evanston Township High School and Phillips Exeter Adademy, He graduated Pi Beta Kappa from Princeton University and Alpha Omega Alpha from Northwestern University Medical School.

He did his graduate training at the Mayo Cinic, Rochester, MN. From 1939-1945 he was a Major in the Army Medical Corps, serving in the South Pacific. He then practiced Internal Medicine in Evanston, IL until his retirement. He is survived by his first wife Margaret Myers Helm: two sons, James Myers (Martha) Helm and Standiford (Noel) Helm 11, M.D., two daughters, Margaretta Withers and Isabel (Oscar) Struc; a sister, Marjorie Helm Swigert; and 12 grandchildren. Family will receive friends, 2 p.m.

Thomas A. Stachyra, 54, Hillside baseball coach By William Recktenwald TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER Thomas A. Stachyra Sr. worked for the American College of Surgeons and volunteered many hours as a coach for the Hillside Boys Baseball League. Mr.

Stachyra, a resident of Hillside, died Sunday in Elmhurst Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was 54. Born in Cicero, Mr. Stachyra graduated from Morton East High School before entering Bradley University. In the 1960s, Mr.

Stachyra served in the U.S. Army. For the last decade, Mr. Stachyra was the building engineer for the American College of Surgeons. He was in charge of the physical plant operations of the organization's former headquarters, an eight-story building at 55 E.

Erie St. An avid gardener Who loved to camp, Mr. Stachyra led Boy Scout Troop 73 when his three sons were growing up, his wife, Janice, said. His boys also drew him to the Hillside Boys Baseball League, where he coached the Cardinals to recent wins in the Westchester AllStar Tournament. "He really enjoyed coaching the boys," his wife said.
