Zichetella, 75, of Hoffman Estates, a retired owner of several service station franchises in Chicago and Palatine, died Thursday in his home. Mr. Zichitella owned gasoline stations, including Texaco, Sinclair and Mobil franchises, for more than 40 years. Among his stations were those at Hicks Road Almoine H. Alf Almoine H.

Alf, 71, of Palatine, was a quality-control engineer a at Medical Research Laboratories Buffalo Grove, for 15 years, retirinig in 1995. Mr. Alf died Wednesday in Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights. "He was a loving, kind man," said his wife, Harriet. "He was the last one of those from the era when everything was done right," said Dilip Mehta, general manager at Medical Research.

"He was a very loyal, hard-working employee. He was the best." Mehta said that Mr. Alf returned to work even after suffering his first heart attack. "Everyone here liked him," Mehta said. Other survivors include three sisters, Lillian Markey, Helen Jorgenson and Marie Thalacker; and a brother, Duane Alf.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ahlgrim and Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Kathleen A. Cook Kathleen A.

Cook, 50, of Crystal Lake, died Wednesday at home. She was a history instructor at McHenry County College and taught special education students at Our Lady of Ransom Elementary School in Niles. Survivors include her husband, Tom; two daughters, Julie and Nicole; her parents, Tony and Millie Catalano; and Illinois Avenue in Palatine, and Grand and Harlem Avenues and Western Avenue and Taylor Street in Chicago. He was drafted into the Army at the onset of World War II and served years in the South Pacific. He served as a teletype operator and was awarded the Silver Star medal.

"He was a quiet, reserved person," said his daughter-in-law, Marilou Zichitella. "He had many a sister, Toni Greenslade; and a brother, Don. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Querhammer Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave.

Costello, 79, of Crystal Lake, died Wednesday at home. He served in the Army during World War II. He was co-owner of Essex-Costello Real Estate in Crystal Lake and was on the Crystal Lake High School board from 1959 to 1968, serving as president from 1966 to 1968. Mr. Costello's survivors include his wife, Rita; five daughters, Kathleen Lenth, Jeanne Anne Quinn, Mary Toohey, Rita Kreeger and Carol Hartinger; a son, Kevin; a brother, John; and 18 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Querhammer Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra, Cotta Crystal Lake. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in St.

Georgiana Foster Georgiana Foster, 90, of Arling- ton Heights, formerly of Barrington, co-founded the former Complete Reading Electric Chicago, with her husband in the late 1930s. Mrs. Foster died acquaintances, but a small circle of close friends. He was very family-oriented.
