$100,000 to Be Shared by Six Charities. The late Melville N. Rothschild, founder of a 75 million dollar investment company, left an estate valued at 5 million dollars and bequeathed $100,000 to charitable institutions, Probate court proceedings yesterday revealed. Rothschild died in Chicago in his 51th year last July 17. Yesterday's proceedings were threefold.

The inventory listing assets of the estate was filed by the widow, Mrs. Beatrice Rothschild. 1109 Sheridan road, Glencoe, who is executrix, before Probate Judge John F. O'Con-nell. And almost simultaneously before Thaddeus V.

Adesko. an assistant to Judge O'Connell, she obtained $150,000 as the widow's award, Six Agencies to Share Bequest. In a third order filed later in the day Mrs. Rothschild asked Judge O'Connell to approve her proposal to divide her husband's chartiable Lbequest among six agencies. The court's approval was required because Rothschild's will did not designate the agencies to receive his charity.

Instead it directed that Mrs. Rothschild use her discretion. The agencies and the sums proposed for them were: Jewish Charities of Chicago. Visiting Nurses' Association 12.000 United Charities of Chicago 10.000 Catholic Charities of Chicago 10.000 University of Chicago 10.000 Jewish Children's 7.500 Judge O'Connell's ruling on this point will be given later. $1,260,000 In Cash.

The inventory of the estate listed $1,260,000 In cash, and another million dollars in United States treasury notes. Among stock items was shares of National Bond and Investment company, the investment company he established. Other stocks included 5.000 shares of Radio Corporation of America; 2,500 United States Steel corporation: 2,200 Sears Roebuck 2.100 Stewart Warner corporation, and 1,600 General Foods corporation. Seven parcels of real estate were listed. In Rothschild's will, filed a few days after his death.

40 per cent of the estate was left to Mrs. Rothschild and 15 per cent each to their four children. 9 SQUARE MILES OF CITY FOUND TO BE BLIGHTED The Chicago Plan commission" was told by Robert Klove. research expert, yesterday that nine square miles of city id is blight area and 13 more square miles near blight. Figures he supplied were based on a recently completed land use survey.

He also classified other areas as conservation still good for another generation, stable composed of buildings erected since 1P20; fringe of the city newly constructed dwellings and districts not yet developed.
