Louis today. The Browns came from behind to tie it in the ninth, and scored four in the tenth inning, but rain washed away the lead. The 44,686 fans came to watch a double header at the big lake front stadium. Instead, they waited around nearly four hours, didn't see an officially completed hall game and were drenched for their trouble. The result pushed Cleveland three and a half games ahead of the losing Detroit Tigers.

Aug. 18 Dodgers whipped the Boston Bees in a double header today, 7 'to 2 and 3 to 1. Before a crowd of 21,178, Whit Wyatt and Luke Hamlin each pitched a seven hitter to win the two games. The double victory enabled the Dodgers to pull up to within games of the National league leading Cincinnati Reds, who lost twice today to St. Louis.

arniumil .4 i 1 a I Emil Campagne, west side heavyweight, who has Improved since changing his name to Eddie Camp last year, is expected to receive one of the hardest tests of his career tonight in an eight round bout against Billy Ikliske Jr. of Minneapolis in Marigold Gardens. Camp is undefeated this year, his victims including Settimo Terracina, Lee Oma, and Tom Burns. He knocked out Terracina and Burns. Miske, son of the late heavyweight contender, will be making his third Chicago appearance.

In his local debut, Bill scored a two round knockout over Floyd McNulty in Majestic arena on the west side April 2, 1937. He followed up this accomplishment by conquering Joe Lubin in the Stadium March 31, 1939. Chico Romo, Los Angeles junior welterweight, who is an old hand at the game, will seek to keep his Chicago record clear in an eight round secondary feature against Stan Po. redo, newcomer from Detroit. Romo has a record of five victories and one draNi, decision in six Chicago starts.

In a game marked by six home 1 A powerful East team from the 1Negro National league crushed a West squad from the Negro American league, 12 to 0, in the eighth' annual East-West Negro all-star game! In Comiskey park yesterday. A crowd of 30,000 saw the East pound out 15 hits off four West hurlers to even up the series at four and four. Their own pitchers, meanwhile, i yielded only five hits.

Six errors by a jittery West defense also aided in Its defeat. Buck Leonard of the Pittsburgh Homestead Grays, with three singles and two bases on balls. and John Barker of the New York Black Yankees with three singles, were the East's hitting stars. The East's starting pitcher, McHenry of Philadelphia, received credit for the victory. The defeat was charged to Bremmer of Memphis.
