WALKER Walter J. Walker, beloved husband all along the Nile's 3,850 mile journey from Lake Victoria to the Mediterranean. Egypt Contributes The network of water storing reservoirs will put an end to the "seven fat years and seven lean years that have plagued Egypt's farmers for thousands of years. And it will help the Sudan which lies just north of Lake Victoria. The Owens Falls dam was built by the Uganda government chiefly to create power for the ,100,000 square miles of the colony.

At its peak the 42 million dollar hydroelectric system will send out 150,000 kilowatts to the 1,524,000 inhabitants. Egypt is paying part of the cost, under her program to control the Nile and boost cultivated land by 1,500,000 acres. Last fall the Egyptian and Sudanese governments finally agreed on their blueprint for reclaiming desert areas lying near the White and Blue Niles. Minerals Abundant When the Owens Falls dam is finished more than 100,000 gallons of water per second will flow thru the turbines and dam gates. The bush country around Lake Victoria already has been transformed by the gigantic task of dam building.

Plans already are going ahead to build smelting plants and textile and tobacco factories along the lake side. CLARK LEE DIES; A. P. REPORTER William F. Bieber Anna Vrba, Mary Soukup, Thomas, and the late Florian, grandfather of five.
