Maguire, 71, founder and chairman of Walter Maguire company, New, York City, floor materials manufacturers, will be held at 2 p.

m. tomorrow in a Manhasset, N. chapel. Mr. Maguire, a former Chicagoan, died Wednesday in his home in Manhasset.

When in Chicago, he was associated with several dairy equipment manufacturing concerns. He founded the New York firm 20 years ago. He is survived by his widow, Linda; two daughters, Dorothy and Mary, and a sister. A. T.

KEARNEY IS DEAD AT 69 CXeCUtlVe 0T Several Firms in Chicago Andrew T. Kearney, 69, chairman of the Zonolite comoanv. and a director of the Kroger company and of Libby McNeil Libby, died yesterday in Pas-savant hospital. He lived at 190 E. Pearson st.

Mr. Kearney was president and director of Zonolite, a processor of the mineral vermicu-lite, from 1939 until he assumed the board chairmanship in 1954. Active During War During World War II he served as deputy regional director and then regional director of the war production board. In 1945, Mr. Kearney headed a government mission to China to assist the Chinese war effort.

For his work, he was decorated by the Chinese government and was awarded the medal of freedom by the United States army. MICHAEL BODE SERVICES TO BE TOMORROW Mass for Michael Bode, 90, of Kenosha, founder of Bode Brothers company, a large furniture retail firm in Kenosha, and father of six sons, including County Judge Harold Bode of Kenosha county, will be said at 9 a. m. tomorrow in St. James church, Kenosha. Mr.

Bode died Wednesday in a convalescent home in Kenosha. He retired from active participation 23 years ago in the firm which he founded in 1894. He was instrumental in the formation of the Furniture Mart in Chicago in the 1920s, and was first president of the Wisconsin Retail Furniture association. Besides Judge Bode, Mr. Bode is survived by five other sons, John Richard, Robert, Dr.

Park, last night. He was professor emeritus of geology at the University of Chicago and the author of many papers and books on microscopic studies of minerals and rocks. In addition to his technical works, Dr. Johannsen was the author of a history of the dime novel, "The House of Beadle and Arams," and "Phiz: Illustrations from the Novels of Charles Dickens," a commentary on illustrations drawn for seven Dickens novels by H. K.

Browne Phiz. Dr. Johannsen retired in 1937 and devoted most of his time to writing. Surviving is his widow, An-nabell; and two sons, Albert, and Willard. Funeral arrangements are being made.

iielenreiiZy, writer, dies AFTER ILLNESS Albuquerque, N. Jan. 11 Special Mrs. Helen Reilly, 73, a writer of mystery novels, died here today after a short illness. She was the widow of Paul Reilly, New York artist and cartoonist.

Her father, the late Dr. James M. Kieran, formerly was president of Hunter college. One of her brothers, John Kieran, formerly was sports editor of the New York Times and onca was a panelist on the radio show, "Information Please." Mrs. Reilly wrote more than 40 mystery novels and had authored numerous magazine serials.
