Vokal, for 34 years an optometrist and jeweler at 1218 S. Pulaski recently retired. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Jean Hubbard and Mrs. Edna Black, and brother, Charles.

Mrs. WiL'iam C. Johnson Mrs. Vivian Johnson, 61, of 3545 N. Seeley wife of William C.

Johnson, a Tribune printer, died of a heart attack yesterday in her home. Firemen of ambulance 6 worked unsuccessfully for two hours with an inhalator in an attempt to revive her. Also surviving are two brothers, John and Mitchell Long. Mrs. John H.

Robison Memorial services for Mrs. Ruth H. Robison, 50, of Sunset Ridge Northfield, wife of John II will be held at 4 p. m. tomorrow in the Winnetka Congregational church.

She died Saturday in Evanston hospital. Also surviving are three children, Mrs. Jane Webster, John, and James, and two sisters and a brother. John Victor Lee John Victor Lee, 74, of 1002 Washington Evanston, retired druggist in the suburb, died yesterday in Evanston hospital. Survivors are two sisters, Mrs.

Lillian Weeks and Maude E. Lee. Services will be held at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow in the chapel at 1567 Maple av.

Mrs. Clarence S. Tay Services for Mrs. Ruth Sap-pington Tay, 71, of 1245 Richmond lane, Wilmette, who died Saturday in Evanston hospital, will be held tomorrow' in Fred erick, Md. Survivors include her husband, Clarence a daughter, Mrs.

Mrs. Anna S. Edmunds," 72, of 1123 Lathrop a River Forest, wife of Philip Edmunds died yesterday in her home. Also surviving are three children, Philip Kellogg. and Frances Ann; a sister, and a brother.

TWO CHARGED WITH MURDER OF FBI AGENT Norfolk, April 24 Special Two men were charged with murder here today as the result of a fatal beating they administered yesterday to Joseph A. Lehman, 43, an agent of the federal bureau of investigation, after a traffic accident. Those charged were Clark Ray Williams, 21, "and Robert Julian both of Nor- J. a ness man was held in jail here today for the robbery of the People's Trust and Savings bank at Grand Junction Friday.

Greene County Sherif Roy. Morgan said that Arvid Rei-man, 24, of Arcadia, married and the' father of two children, admitted the holdup and that paper bag containing more than $9,000 all the money taken from the bank had been recovered. The sherif said charges of -bank robbery will be filed thru the the office of County Atty. Eugene Melson and that Reiman will be arraigned tomorrow. Morgan quoted Rei man as saying he staged the holdup because he needed money to pay debts.

The sherif said he had received a tfp from an unidentified person whb said he saw Reinian in several taverns Friday night. Policeman Shoots Wife in Instruction Accident Mrs. Dorothy-Murphy, 30, was wounded in the jaw early yesterday by a shot from the service revolver of her husband, Ulysses, a city policeman, in their home, at 5946 S. Elizabeth st. Murphy said the gun was discharged accidentally while he was demonstrating a method of disarming a gunman.

He once taught at Fenwick High school, Oak Park, IU. $602,187 GIVEN TO AGENCIES BY CHICAGOTRUST Philanthropies Since The Chicago Community Trust distributed $602,187 to 225 agencies last year, bringing to $7,346,378 the amount granted to 375 health, welfare, civic, and educational agencies in the Chicago area, James Brown IV, executive director, reported yesterday. The trust, established 40 years ago to perpetuate chari table bequests according to community needs, is the old est of its kind in the midwest and the second oldest of more than 100 in the country. 13 Additions Made A seven member executive committee authorizes the distributions of income from in vested funds, now numbering 67 and totaling $12,133,225.

One new fund was established in 1954 and additions were made to 13 others. The new fund was created by a $100,000 bequest in the will of Dr. Brown Pusey. It is for the general purposes of the trust without restrictions. This, Brown pointed out, allows income to be shifted to meet urgent needs.

Goes to Education The larger share the philanthropies has gone into educa tion which has received 381, including $552,537 in individual scholarship awards and more than a million dollars for research and special projects, largely at Northwestern university, the University of Chicago, and Dlinois Institute of Other fields which have benefited and the totals therein since 1915 include: youth and neighborhood activities, family service, hospitals and health, child care, community organizations, care of aged, and specialized services, $324,843. Brown said a major objective of the trust will-be to encour age new funds for scholarships. particularly for women and medical students.
