m. Saturday in Good Shepherd Congregational church, 5700 Prairie where, he was deacon emeritus. Mr. Thomas, a widower, was found dead in his home Thursday. At the time of his retirement about 15 years ago, he was a teacher in Mcse'y school, 24th st.

and Wabash- His sole survivor is a niece, Mrs. Linnie L. McKin-ney. Villard S. Townsend Services for Willard S.

Townsend, 61, of 555 E. 33d st, Negro labor leader, will be held at 2 p. m. tomorrow in Grace Presbyterian church. Mr.

Townsend, who was president of the AFL-CIO United Transport Service Employees union, died Sunday in Provident hospital. He started as a red cap and dining car waiter in Cincinnati, and moved in 1928 to Chicago, where he organized the union, which now has mere than 8,000 members. He is survived by his widow, Consuelo, and a son, Willard. John J. Hauey John J.

Hussey, 75, of 6835 Clyde a salesman for Ma-terial Service corporation, died yesterday in Little Company of Mary hospital. He also was the owner cf Enter-'prise Brick company. Surviving are his widow, Mary; two daughters, Mary E. and Mrs. Anthony J.

Mazziotti; two sons, John J. Jr. and William and a sister. Mass will be said at 10:33 a. Thursday in St Philip Neri church, 2132 E.

Services for Henry Messier 69, clerk of Bourbonnais township, Kankakee county, for the last 25 years, will be held at 10 a. m. tomorrow in Maternity church, 91 Marsile Bourbonnais. He died Sunday in his home at 156 Main Bourbonnais. A retired farmer, Mr.

Messier earlier had served as clerk of the village board. Surviving are his widow, Louise, two sons, eight daughters, a stepdaughter, 33 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Tom Ellis Mrs. Irene Caroline Ellis, 56, whose husband, Tom, formerly was supervising engineer of Swift- died last night in St.

Petersburg, where the couple had lived since Mr. Ellis retirement in-1950. The body will be returned to Chicago for buriaL Other sur vivors include a daughter. Mrs. Beverly Dunkel, and a son, -Raymond' an editorial employe of The Tribune.

Miss Emily Reinhard Services for Miss Emily Reinhard, of 3831 N. Mozart st, a retired Chicago public school teacher, will be held at 2 p. m. tomorrow in the chapel at 2118 Lawrence av. She died Sunday.

Miss Reinhard, who retired in 1936 after 40 years of teaching, last was assigned to the Mason elementary school. A sister, Mrs. Carrie Dudley, survives. Samnel M. Stone Attleboro, Feb.
