Leonard Marlon R. Leonard, age 66, of Lombard, wrote influential books and beaded a flourishing law firm. Berle wrote many of Roosevelt's speeches and went to Washington where he wrote much of the "100 Days" legislation. Conceived NRA Features He is given credit for conceiving main features of the National Recovery Act NRA but left Washington in 1934 to be chamberlain, or treasurer, of New York City. He held this post until 1938 when he was named assistant secretary of state.

Berle had an almost life-long per cent higher than the district's estimate of $9 million. In other business, the board authorized the district staff to begin negotiating without competitive bidding with railroads and barge companies for transporting sludge from the Stick-ney treatment plant to 7,000 acres in Fulton County. The District hopes to obtain a three-year contract for transporting 9,000 tons of sludge daily. The estimated cost is $17.1 million. The board also authorized advertising for bids for the construction of a water reclamation plant near Schaumburg Village, near Salt Creek.

SUBURBAN make Lane Technical High School coeducational will be sought at a meeting at 7:30 p. m. Wednesday in the school suditorium, 2501 W. Addison St. The Lane Technical Advisory Council, a group of some 30 parents of Lane students, has asked school board members to attend the public meeting.

Dr. Donald J. Racky, school principal, said there is some opposition to admitting girls to the school and some community opinion that the board tfld not consult them on the action. Under the proposal, which had been discussed at several board committee meetings before being approved, 400 girls would be admitted next fall and a total of 965 by September, 1973. Dr.

Racky said the parent group has called tho public meeting primarily to determine if there is any widespread opposition to the plan. SOUTH DONNELLAN FUNERAL HOME 651 S.
