FREISE served on the war rationing board during World War II and on several school boards for the area, principally a farm community at the time. The site of his farm now is occupied by a Dominick's supermarket and a mart.

Survivors, besides his daughter Pauline, include another daughter, Laura Thurow; four sons, George, Robert, Henry and William; 22 grandchildren; 44 greatgrandchildren; and 5 HENRY J. FREISE, 98. owned and operated a farm at Route 58 and Roselle Road in Schaumburg until he retired in 1952. Services for Mr. Freise, of West Pundee, will be at 10 a.m.

Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 407 Johnson East Dundee. He died Saturday in Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Mr. Freise farmed for more than 50 years. He was born on the farm next to the one he operated.

"It was good farm land, and he did well with it," according to his daughter Pauline Zoellick. "He missed it Margaret Hugging Memorial services were pending Monday for Margaret Wellman Hug-gins, wife of Dr. Charles B. Huggins, who won the 1966 Nobel Prize in physiology and medicine. Mrs.

Hug-gins, 78, died Sunday in Billings Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Hyde Park. Since 1927, when her husband accepted a fellowship in surgery at the University of Chicago, they have lived in the university community. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Charles; and a daughter, Emily Fine. Adrian A.

Walker Services for Adrian A. Walker will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel at 25 E. Erie St. Mr.

Walker, 88, died Saturday in Sheridan Road Pavilion of Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center. Mr. Walker, a North Side resident, was a manufacturer's representative for the Modern Sup- Ely Company, 222 W. Adams St.

uring World War he served as a naval officer aboard the USS Arkansas. Mr. Walker was a past commodore and race chairman of the Jackson Park Yacht Club, a member of the 100 Club of Cook County and a past president of the Chicago Athletic Association. Mr. Walker is survived by two daughters, Adrienne W.

Ferris and Nance W. Bussell; five grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Victor V. Elsberg Services for Victor V. Elsberg, 71, retired supervisor for Libby McNeill Libby Chicago, will be at 11 a.m.

Wednesday in the chapel at 5700 S. Pulaski Rd. Mr. Elsberg, a Southwest Side resident, died Saturday in Mt. Sinai Hospital.

He had worked for Libby McNeill for 44 years and retired in 1971. Surviving are his wife, Aldona; a daughter, Patricia Hanes; three grandchildren; and a brother. William E. North Private services are planned for and John; and her mother, Irene B. Hilton.

Maxwell Singer Maxwell Singer, 74, an attorney, died Monday in Weiss Memorial Hospital. Mr. Singer, a North Side resident, was a lawyer for 50 years with offices at 123 W. Madison St. He also was a Chicago trustee of the National Jewish Hospital and Asthma Center, in Denver.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemond; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Rowe and Janet Pot-tebaum; five granchildren; and a sister. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel at 111 Skokie Wilmette. Nelson Van de Lester Services for Nelson Van de Lester, 69, of Indianapolis, a former Chica-goan and retired director of budgets for the RCA will be Tuesday in Swartz Creek, Mich.

Mr. Van de Lester died Sunday in Flint, where he was visiting relatives. He had been a resident of Indianapolis since 1968, when he moved from Chicago, and retired from RCA in 1979. Surviving are his wife, Hazel; a daughter, Sandra Todd Batzloss; and three grandchildren. Dr.

Martin Reid Dr. Martin Thomas Reid, 77, a retired dentist, died Monday in Ev-anston Hospital. Dr. Reid, of Wilmette, practiced dentistry in Chicago for more than 50 years, with offices at 624 W. 119th St.

A graduate of the Loyola University school of dentistry, he was a former South Shore resident. He is survived by his wife, Ella; a son, Martin T. a daughter, Dorothy Marquis; a granddaughter; a brother; and a sister. Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St.

Joseph Catholic Church, 1747 Lake Wilmette. Powers Lewis Services for Powers Cruzat Lewis, 61, a Chicago Health Department employee for 34 years, will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at 7350 S. Cottage Grove Ave. Mr.

Lewis, a William E. North, 82, of Arlington Heights, a retired inspector for the New York Life Insurance and a World War I veteran. Mr. North died Sunday in Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights. Surviving are his wife, Paula; a son, William two grandchildren; a brother; and a sister.

Adolph N. Straka Services for Adolph N. Straka, 85, a forrrv teacher and administrator at Lane Technical High School, will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Peace at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, 9900 Gross Point Skokie. Mr.

Straka, of Glenview, died Sunday in Augustana Hospital. He was on the staff of Lane Tech for 42 years, retiring in 1963 as an assistant principal and shop superintendent. Survivors include two sisters, Eleanor Straka and Violet Lehman. William Sonkin Services for William Sonkin, 66, owner of Lisle Drugs and Liquors, Lisle, will be at. 2 p.m.

Tuesday in the chapel at 111 Skokie Wil-mette. Mr. Sonkin, of Woodridge, died Saturday in Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove. Mr. Sonkin former'y operated a chain of three drug stores in the Western suburbs.

He was a past president of the Niles Township Jewish Men's Club and past board member of Temple Judea in Skokie. Surviving are his wife, Marian; a son, Myron; three daughters, Dorinne Schwartz, Linda Varallo and Iris; three stepsons, Frank and Richard Rock and Paul Munroe; 12 grandchildren; and a brother. Jolene A. Jonsson Private services for Jolene A. Jonsson, 40, a former Chicago resident, will be Tuesday in Evergreen, Colo.

She died Sunday in Evergreen, where she had been living. She was a former secretary for the Stone Container Corp. Survivors include her husband, K. David; two sons, David South Side resident, died Friday. He was the first black to be named supervisor of food inspectors for the health department.

Survivors include a daughter, Cruzanne Lewis Carpenter; and a sister. Sgt. James May Sr. Mass for Chicago Police Sgt. James E.

May 46, who twice received departmental commendations for rescuing persons from burning buildings, will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday St. Felicitas Catholic Church, 1526 E. 84th St. Sgt.

May died March 17 in South Chicago Hospital. He was a Chicago police officer for 23 years. He is survived by his wife, Verlaida; two sons, James Jr. and Michael; two daughters, Vala Marie and Christy; his mother, Clemontine; two sisters; and two grandchildren. Morris Bernstein Services for Morris Bernstein, 80, former Chicago insurance agent, will be at 11 a.m.

Friday in the chapel at 1300 W. Devon Ave. Mr. Bernstein, who lived in Clearwater, for the last four years, died Wednesday in Largo, Fla. For 35 years, he represented the New York Life Insurance 231 S.

LaSalle St. He was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table for many years. He is survived by a daughter, Joan Mantke; three grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Paul C. Zoes Services for Paul C.

Zoes, 63, president of the C.A. Zoes Manufacturing Co. will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 5649 N.

Sheridan Rd. Mr. Zoes died Saturday at Billings Memorial Hospital. A North Sider, Mr. Zoes had a chemical background and used that knowledge to develop and manufacture products that are used in the finishing of leather.

His firm, located on the Near North Side, was founded by his late father in 1905. Survivors include his sister, Mrs. Betty Collias. Leo Morgan, Sid Caesar show producer on TV during 1950s Goodman, Glenn Miller and Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey. When the big-band era ended he turned to television.

Besides the Sid Caesar show, he produced the "Colgate Comedy Hour" and Irving Berlin's "Cavalcade of America" before retiring to Miami. He is survived by two daughters, three grandchildren and a sister. Services will be Tuesday in Miami with burial in New York. MIAMI (UPD Leo Morgan, who reduced the "Sid Caesar Comedy tour" on national television for eight years in the 1950s, has died at age 74. Mr.

Morgan died Sunday in Baptist Hospital here. Before going into network television production, he produced shows in the 1930s and 1940s at the Paramount Theater in New York City featuring the bands of Benny G.
