Director of Bank Mr. McCormick was a director of the Miami corporation and the National Boulevard Bank of Chicago. He also had interests in real estate holdings in the city. He was an active sponsor of the Lyric opera and served as a governing life member of the Art Institute of Chicago. He Wirtz said, and the result was public law 90-491.

Prior to this new law, the labor secretary explained some reservists had been denied promotions because they attended weekly drills or summer training, while others had been discharged because of their military obligations.
