In that year he also founded First Federal Savings and Loan association and served as president and chairman of the board until his retirement in 1964. In civic functions, Mr. Bodfish was chairman of the city planning advisory board in 1939 and was vice chairman of the City Planning commission in 1940. He was appointed a delegate to the housing committee of the United Nations economic commission in 1953 and was awarded the order of merit by West Germany in recognition of his efforts in behalf of private housing. He is survived by his widow," Marjorie, and a sister.
