Robert Wagemann of the Northlake force were closeted several times during an all-morning conference in the state's attorney's office. Attending were Louis Garippo, prosecutor in charge of the case, and North-lake officials, including Mayor Edward Neiri, City Manager Norman Gaffney, and Axel Rood, representing the city attorney. Continued to Tuesday After the conference, Heggaton spent 45 minutes before the grand jury, Prokop about 15 minutes, and Wagemann 10 minutes. Garippo then continued the grand jury investigation until Tuesday, saying he was not sure who else would be called to testify or who would te called back. However, 1 Prokop told.

Chief Heggaton that he had been asked to return Tuesday. Prokop arrested one of five" men charged with illegal possession of part of the $250,000 wortH of 'drugs stolen last Oct. 5 from the Louis Zahn Drug company warehouse in Melrose Park. The $50,000 cache was discovered in a Northlake garage April 13 when the five were arrested. Frees AH Five The July grand jury freed all five, voting a "no" bill.

Jurors said they were not given sufficient evidence for an indictment. Charges were leveled that the state had "bungled" presentation of the case and that the policemen had not been asked sufficient questions about the identity of the five. Chief Heggaton then disclosed a "mystery witness" who could give additional testimony. State's Atty. Daniel P.
