Interment St. Benedict's. BE 8-2245. southern Patrick county are puzzled by the strange allegiance for the last 10 days of a stray dog to the grave of a stranger. Twelve days ago Acie Man-kins, 75, a native of Ararat, died in Winston-Salem, N.

where he had moved in 1948. His body was brought back to this area and was buried in a neighborhood cemetery. Two days later, a stray dog showed up and remained on the grave for at least 10 days. Puzzled residents notified dog warden Fred Barnard. So far as Barnard can determine, the dog does not belong to anyone in the Mankins family or to anyone else he has contacted in the neighborhood.

He did, however, find a family anxious to adopt the eight-month mixed German shepherd. Barth Herbert C.
