She said she is not able yet to determine whether she likes the American system, where algebra and geometry arc taught in separate courses, as well. RAdcliffe 3-3222 movie sav- yy in -rt for Vour porVinq 1 cost the Illinois Central railroad $31,334 yearly in train collectors' wages, an official testified at an Illinois commerce commission hearing last week.

Joseph J. Berschinski, trainmas-tr. explained operational difficulties in opposition to a petition by the city asking to order the railroad to provide an entrance. The proposed entrance would give access to the 82d St. station platform at its south end on the railroad's main suburban line.

Collectors Called Need Berschinski said unless a ticket puncher were stationed at the proposed entrance, three collectors would have to be placed on rush hour trains to punch tickets of commuters boarding the trains at 83d st. Otherwise, he said, those riders could travel free to 53d St. northbound, and to several stations south of 83d st. in the other direction. Berschinski said the railroad is losing money on its suburban operations and cannot afford the additional collectors.

At the suggestion of Edward J. Kelly, assistant corporation counsel, the railroad was told by Examiner Louis Lebin to present at the next hearing Nov. 17 cost estimates and plans for placing a pre-punching station at the entrance. No Room Is Claim The railroad has maintained there is insufficient rpom for such a station at street level and one on the platform would be loo costly. Under this plan, riders would have to purchase tickets at oilier stations, but could have multiple ride tickets punched at the proposed 83d st.

entrance. In support of the city's pica, Kelly called on Edward Schwantes, supervisor of city traffic checkers. Schwantes testified 576 persons used the 83d st. exit during a 10 hour check period recently. Showing the Sultan of Swat around 1 Me plant is more important in Fitzgerald's memory than the tour on which he accompanied the duke of Windsor then prince of Wales, about the slock yards in 1924. Perhaps it was because Fitzgerald has always been an ardent sports fan that Iluth's visit so impressed him.

Chicago "Very Fascinating" Chicago is a "very fascinating city," Miss Hampson said but she has found the weather a little too warm. Told that we have had an unusually cool summer, Miss Hampson said, "I guess it was just made for my benefit but I still like it a bit cooler."
