US of a Chicago Tribune, Tuesday, February 4, 1986 Section 2 Austin P. McDonough Private services will be held in Phoenix, for Austin P. McDonough, 72, retired Chicago press man, who died Sunday in his home in Phoenix. Mr. McDonough, the father of John A.

McDonough, Sun-Times assistant managing editor for production, had been a pressman in Chicago for 45 years. He retired from the LaSalle Street Press in 1978 and moved to Phoenix in 1979. He was a member of the Union 3 Graphic and Communications had active in the Boy Scouts of America and the Neighborhood Boys Club. Other survivors include his wife, Doris; three other sons, Michael, Thomas and Robert; two daughters, Kathleen Marszowski and Patricia'; 'and nine grandchildren. James F.

Ward Sr. Mass for James F. Ward 80, a retired Chicago Fire Department lieutenant, will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Anne Catholic Church, 168th Street and Dixie Highway, Hazel Crest.

Mr. Ward Friday in the University of Chicago Hospitals Clinics. After 28 years with the Chicago Fire Department, he retired and became a foreman for Peoples Gas, Light Coke job from which he later retired. Mr. Ward is survived by his wife, Marcella; 5 sons, James F.

Bernard, Thomas, John and Neil; a daughter, Susanne Brown; 25 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters. Nan Elliott Goldberg Mass for Nan Elliott Goldberg, 86, a longtime Chicago show business figure, will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Queen of All Saints Catholic Basilica, 6280 N. Sauganash Ave. Mrs.

Goldberg died Saturday in Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Before her retirement, she had been a talent representative for the CBS Artists Bureau. Mrs. Goldberg is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dan Goldberg, longtime Chicago motion picture theater owner and theatrical producer who co-founded the Drury Lane Theaters. John P.

Leider Jr. Mass for John P. Leider 72, a Bensenville resident, will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Alexis Catholic Church, 400 W.

Wood Bensenville. Mr. Leider, part owner of Leider's Liquor and Leider's Garden Center in the western suburb, died Saturday in Memorial Hospital of Du Page County, Elmhurst. Mr. Leider was a former Bensenville village trustee and former president of the Chicago Carnation Growers.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; a daughter, Diane Boswell; a son, Jack; 10 grandchildren; a greatgrandchild; 4 sisters; and 3 brothers. Dr. Elmer M. Imber Services for Dr. Elmer M.

Imber, 73, a dentist, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel at 111 Skokie Wilmette. Dr. Imber, of Lincolnwood, died Sunday after being stricken in his home. He had dental offices in the Lincoln-Peterson Medical Center, 5962 N.

Lincoln Ave. Dr. Imber was also active in B'nai B'rith, and had served as president of the Chicago Council in 1955 and of the Midwest Area in 1962. Dr. Imber is survived by his wife, Dena; two daughters, Meryle Sue Mitchel and Evan Black; a son, Errol; eight grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.

Robert A. Altepeter Mass for Robert A. Altepeter, 53, of Palos Heights, will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Alexander Catholic Church, 7025 W.

126th Palos Heights. Mr. Altepeter, who died Sunday at home, was the president and chief executive officer of the Bridgeview Bank and Trust Co. He was a founding director of the Bridgeview Chamber of Commerce, a past member of the Palos Heights Chamber of Commerce, and a teacher at Moraine Valley College. He i is survived by his wife, Jean; his parents, Alvin and Henrietta; a son, David; and a daughter, Cynthia Cooperman.

F. LeRoy Nelson Services for F. LeRoy Nelson, 86, a North Side resident, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral, home at 4332 N. Elston Nelson, who died Friday in Northwestern Memorial Hospital, was the lobby organist at the Conrad Hilton Hotel, 720 Michigan for 15 years.

Mr. Nelson is survived by a daughter, Joan Lee; and brother. Catherine E. Norton Catherine E. Norton, 78, formerly of Berwyn, died Sunday in Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington.

Mrs. Norton, mother of John president of Saturn Intermediaries, a loop brokerage firm, had lived in Berwyn for 70 years before moving to Barrington Hills with her son. A mass for Mrs. Norton will be said at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St.

Leonard Catholic Church, 3300 S. Clarence Berwyn. Mrs. Norton is also survived by two grandchildren; and a brother. Dick James, 65, Beatles' 1st music publisher LONDON James, a prominent figure in British popular music who was the first music publisher of the Beatles and Elton John; died of a heart attack Saturday while playing cards with friends, his family said Sunday.

Mr. James, 65, was a band singer famous for a recording of the ballad "Robin Hood" when he decided to strike out on his own as a music publisher in the 1960s.
