Chicago Tribune, Monday, November 1 1 1985 Section 7 Obituaries Mr. Viggiano, of the Northwest Side, died Saturday in Northwest Hospital. He moved to the Mont Clare neighborhood in 1920 and was a candymaker until he retired 17 years ago. He is survived by his wife, Isabel; 3 sons, Donald, Joseph Jr. and John; 3 daughters, Rose Dolalie, Ann and Marian Eberly; 18 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Frank H. Ehrhardt Services for Frank H. Ehrhardt, 67, of Antioch, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel at 532 Lake Antioch. Mr.

Ehrhardt, who died Saturday in Victory Memorial Hospital, Waukegan, worked for 24 years as a machinist for Johnson Motors in Waukegan until his retirement in 1981. Mr. Ehrhardt was born in Chicago. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Irene Bletsch; a son, Frank; four grandchildren; and a sister. Silent-screen actress Mary MacLaren, 85 WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif.

UPI Silent-screen actress Mary MacLaren, who gained a new generation of fans with her feisty battle to retain her delapidated home a few years ago, has died at age 85. Among her best-known movies was the 1921 film "The Three Musketeers," in which she starred with Douglas Fairbanks Sr. and Rudolph Valentino. Miss MacLaren died late Saturday of respiratory problems in West Hollywood Hospital after being taken there Nov. 4 from Virgil Convalescent Hospital in Hollywood, where she had lived for a year.

County officials sought in 1979 to gain conservatorship over Miss MacLaren' finances, claiming she was living in "submarginal conditions." She blocked that effort, but in June, 1983, she submitted to a partial conservatorship after conceding she needed "a little bit of help" to clean up her rambling house, littered with debris, and pay her overdue property taxes. Curtis D. MacDougall, 82, journalist From Chicago Tribune wlree Journalist and educator Curtis D. MacDougall died Sunday in Ev-anston Hospital at age 82. Mr.

MacDougall, whose journalism career spanned more than six decades, died of complications after surgery for a broken hip. At his death, Mr. MacDougall was working on the ninth edition of his book, "Interpretative Journalism," a journalism textbook. Born in Fond du Lac, Mr. MacDougall received his bachelor's degree from Ripon College in 1923 and master's from Northwestern University in Evans-ton in 1926.

In 1933, he received his doctorate in sociology from the University of Wisconsin. Mr. MacDougall began his journalism career at the Fond du Lac Reporter in 1918. He worked for the Two Rivers, Chronicle; United Press; the St. Louis Star-Times; the Chicago Sun and several other newspapers over the span of his career.

While state supervisor of the Illinois Writers Project between 1939 and 1942, he oversaw the work of John J. Bochek Jr. Mass for John J. Bochek 65, of Morton Grove, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St.

Martha Catholic Church, 8523 Georgians Morton Grove. Mr. Bochek died Saturday in his home. He was a traffic manager for the Wilson-Jones Manufacturing Co. in Niles for 33 years.

He is survived by his wife, Harriet; a son, John III; four daughters, Judy Pilewski, Barbara Traiforis, Karen Gates and Kathy Bonn an; eight grandchildren; and two brothers. Curtis D. MacDougall Gerald R. Mausure Mass for Gerald R. Mausure, owner and operator of a southwest suburban arcade, will be said at 9:30 a.m.

Tuesday in St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, 4100 W. 107th Oak Lawn. Mr. Mausure, of Worth, died Friday in Duluth, Minn.

Mr. Mausure, who was born and reared on the South Side, owned the Fun Time Square Recreation Center, a facility in Hometown with baseball batting cages and a miniature golf course. He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Donelda; and two In 1984, Rev. Martin Luther King Sr. died in Atlanta at the age of 84.

On Nov. 11, 1620, the Pilgrims signed the Mayflower Compact, setting basic rules for their new settlement in Massachusetts. In 1918, the World War I armistice between the Allies and Germany was signed. In 1942, Germany completed its wartime occupation of France. In 1972, the Army turned over its base at Longbihn to the South Vietnamese, symbolizing the end of direct U.S.

military involvement in the Vietnam War. such writers as Nelson Algren, Studs Terkel and Saul Bellow. Mr. MacDougall, who taught at Northwestern University from 1942 until 1971, also was active in progressive politics. Mr.

MacDougall is survived by his wife, Genevieve. They had five children, including a son, A. Kent MacDougall, who is a columnist for the Los Angeles Times. He also had several grandchildren. Family members said a memorial service was planned for about Thanksgiving.

Frank E. Ward Services for Frank E. Ward, 86, retired personnel manager of the Standard Oil Chicago Division, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel at 419 E. Broadway, Waukesha.

Mr. Ward, formerly of Evanston, died Friday in a Milwaukee hospital He is survived by his wife, Ella. Joseph Viggiano Sr. Services for Joseph Viggiano 89, a retired candymaker, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel at 7120 W.
