June 22 UP) A 19 year old girl who was graduated from high school last year finished grammar school this month. A serious illness did away with 12 years of schooling for Carolyn Bigham, and she had to start from the beginning again.

It happened this way: She was admitted to a hospital here last September with what doctors diagnosed as messingococ-cal meningitis. This means a tiny germ attacked her nervous system. Carolyn was 'unconscious two weeks. When 'she regained consciousness, she didn't know where she was, didn't know how old she was, couldn't read, write, or talk. She didn't recognize members of her own family.

Her family decided to send her back to school start her again on the first grade level. They located a qualified tutor. On 1 the laborious journey back thru the layers of memory began the alphabet, the calendar, numbers, spelling. In two weeks Carolyn was promoted to the 2d grade. The first reading she took was Psalm 23.

She has finished the 6th grade now and is beyond it in some subjects. She has studied- 7th grade geografy and 10th grade English. those considered normal in peace were held Wednesday at the Mound in Sinsinawa, Wis. Col. Gen, Grishin, Red War Ministry Aide, Dies MOSCOW, June 22 JF) The soviet press reported today the death of Col. Gen. Ivan Grishin, 50, one of Russia's top military leaders. Grishin, who held the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, was chief of the central administration of the war ministry.

He had been a member of the Communist party since 1927 and had served 31 years in the army. Waugh said yesterday he intended to hear testimony on reputedly missing assets of the Edward J. Kelly estate.

Mrs. Margaret Kirk Kelly, the former mayor's widow, has charged that assets amounting to perhaps a million dollars are missing from the $850,000 estate left her by Kelly. Michael F. Mul-cahy, Kelly's attorney, who, with Mrs. Kelly, is an executor of the estate, has said he is unable to find any assets except those listed in an inventory he has filed in Probate court.

The deadline for filing objections to this inventory expired yesterday. Atty. Francis Coyle, attorney for Mrs. Kelly, failed to file any. Judge Waugh said this means the inventory will be approved at a 2 p.

m. hearing Mon-He pointed out, however, that Coyle could petition for citations requiring witnesses to testify about assets. "If Mr. Coyle does not offer such a petition," said Judge Waugh, "the court will issue the citations on its own motion. There have been reports that assets are missing.

These reports should be Investigated." SPITZEB A monument win be dedicated to WAKEFIELD 2nd Lt. Sara H. Wkefield, SOUTH CHAPEL 318 W. 3D-ST. PHONE: WKntworth 6-0025.
