Officers of We, the Mothers, Mobilize for America, said last night they will continue to mail letters of sympathy to parents of American seamen lost in the battle of the Atlantic despite charges by the navy department of an organized campaign to undermine civilian morale." The charges were made in Washington yesterday when Secretary of the Navy Knox made public copies of a letter sent by the peace organization to parents of crew members lost when the Reuben James was sunk last month. The letter, Knox said, had been forwarded to him by some of the parents. Claimed Part of Campaign. A navy department spokesman, commenting on the letter, in which the parents were asked to call to account the real murderers of your loved one, the men who violated the Constitution of the United States by sending him into the war zone," said the letter was "part of an organized campaign to undermine civilian morale and the morale of the armed forces." "That's not the purpose of the letter at all," declared Mrs. Lyrl Van Hyning, president of the organiza tion.

We want the people of America to wake up to the fact that they are being fooled. We want the unfortunate parents of the men to realize who caused their sons' deaths." "We'll keep sending these letters out," said Mrs. Grace Keefe, secretary. "We have a right to do so, as mothers and as citizens seeking to keep our country at peace. If any of the parents want to take legal action against any army or navy superiors who gave illegal orders, we will assist them with our attorneys.

Legal experts have advised that if any soldier loses his life while executing orders which his superiors have no constitutional authority to give, then those officials can be sued as private citizens." Letters Express The organization's letter, sent to parents of casualties on both the Reu: ben James and the Kearney, ex pressed sympathy and noted that "these men were callously and needlessly sent to their deaths." "Any movement," stated the let ters, to avenge these, our dead, by throwing away the lives of millions more of our American men to pun ish a foreign nation is but a false premise to involve us in war." Mrs. Van Hyning and Mrs. Keefe signed the letters. UNDERTAKERS. Laimi Son Funeral Service Unffonnrnatnoira SOUTH SIDE CHAPEL 63D AND HARVARD-AVENUE.
