Section 2 Chicago Tribune, Wednesday, February 7, 1990 MO FRANCH Almanac Obituaries Arthur Keller, winnin tannage Mmege coacn By Kenan Heise Arthur Keller 68, football coach at Carthage College in Kenosha from 19S2 to 1982, was one of the winningest college coaches in the nation. He was the fifth winningest at the time of his retirement and had seen his teams go undefeated in 1962, 1969 and 1971. Mr. Keller, a resident of Racine, died at home on Saturday. While coaching at Carthage, his won-loss record was 178-86-7.

The football teams in his 31 years there won eight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships. When the 1963 team was defeated after 19 straight wins, it had the longest winning streak in the nation at the time. Mr. Keller starred in both basketball and football at Carthage, graduating in 1944. He then served as a lieutenant in the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.

Starting as a high school coach in Carthage, he coached both Paul Chih Meng, former leaded of China Institute in America! SUN CITY, Ariz. (AP) Paul Chih Meng, former president of the China Institute in America, died Sunday at age 100. Mr. Meng had lived in this retirement community about two years after spending much of his life in New York City. Mr.

Meng was born in Beijing, and was a descendant of Mencius, the founder of neo-Confucianism.
