She was the author of several children's books, plays, and stories. After a brief career as a newspaper' she went to work for the Oak Park playground and recreation board and was named director of the suburb's first playground at Lake st.

19 Ishsm Jones. 63, band leader and com poser of the old time hit songs It Had to Be You" and "I'll See You in My Dreams" died today at his residence. He had been ill of cancer about nine months. Jones in 1947 Jones, moved to Hollywood from Los Angeies about a year ago, was one of the top band leaders in the 1920s and 1930s. A native of Coal-ton, he retired from show business 18 years ago but continued to write songs, about 200 in all.

Studied in Chicago Jones, who played piano, violin, and saxophone, studied music in Chicago and organ ized his first band when he was 20. Police said they suffered only minor lacerations on heads or shoulders. Some 900 persons were in the 3,400 seat south side theater, when the plaster fell from the base of the overhanging balcony. George Brandt, district manager of the Balaban Katz chain, owner of the theater, said the plaster was 4 by 4 foot section of finishing plaster about Vz inch thick. Brandt said the incident caused no panic and the performance continued on its regular schedule after police removed the injured to hospitals. A city building inspector, Brandt said, reported that the damage appeared not extensive.

A full inspection of the theater, a show-place vhen it opened in 1920, will be made today. MRS. GLAMAN, NOTED ANIMAL ARTIST, IS DEAD Mrs. Eugenie F. Glaman, 83, of 4 E.

Ohio internationally known animal artist who was known as the "American Rosa Boriheur," died yesterday in Passavant hospital. Mrs. Glaman begain painting animals when she was a small girl on her family's sheep range in Kansas, sketching the family pets and range animals on the margins, 'of books because paper was scarce. She wop her first recognition in the early 1900s with an award at the St. Louis fair for a painting.

Mrs. Glaman was for many years a familiar figure in the Chicago stock yards, which she roamed at will with her easel and brush. Her paintings hang in collections and galleries thru-out the country. Surviving are a daughter, Johanna; two sisters, and a brother. Private services will be held at 1 p.

COUPLE FOUND SHOT TO DEATH IN APARTMENT Henry Johnson, 36, and his wife, Christine, 29, who were reconciled Monday after a three week separation, were found shot to death early to day in their one and a half room apartment at 2031 Lincoln av. Policeman Robert Merk said he believed that Johnson had shot his wife in the mouth, then himself in the head with a .38 caliber revolver. Neighbors said they heard the shots after the Johnsons returned from a tavern. I heard Mrs. Johnson say, Henry, put that gun away, or somebody will get said Mrs.

Minnie Edwards, who lives in an adjacent apartment. Merk said he was told that Mrs. Johnson had been threatening to separate again from her husband.
