He was born on January 11, 1924 in Bellaire, OH, the son of Leo Patrick and Emma (Marley) Keane. A veteran of the US Navy, he served during WWII. James played professional football for the Chicago Bears, starting in the 1946 championship year until 1951and then in 1952 he played for the Green Bay Packers. He set a receiving record for a single game Oct 23, 1949 of 14 receptions and was elected to the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame in 2000. He was a member of McHenry Country Club.

Survivors include his children, Brenda Keane of McHenry, Linda Olson of Las Vegas and James Keane of McHenry and Barcelona, Spain; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Tom. Visitation will be on, Saturday, March 12, 2011from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral Mass at 12 p.m. at the Church of Holy Apostles, 5211W. Bull Valley Road, McHenry, IL.

Miller, 95, of Berwyn, IL, and formerly of Sun City, AZ, passed away on March 4, 2011. Mrs. Miller had retired from Western Electric in Cicero. She continued to work as a care giver until her later eighties and was a volunteer at Reading For The Blind. She received many awards for her needlepoint murals, hand painted china, and ceramic figurines.

As a member of the Chicago Board of Trade for over 50 years, Arch is still considered one of the top soy bean brokers in his day. He served as a Director from 1972 to 1974, a time in which the exchange was increasing its importance in the financial world. As a prominent fixture on the trading floor, Arch was known for his bullish views of the markets, earning him the "Bull of the Year" award. Arch was an avid piano player his entire life, playing the piano at various establishments and entertaining his many friends. His love of water and sailing led him to many places around the world and eventually to his summer homes in Grand Beach, MI and Williams Bay, WI.

Arch was proud of inaugurating the Grand Beach Regatta in the and he continued to sail on Lake Geneva for the next 30 years. Arch will always be remembered for his ability to add humor to any situation. Arch had a passion for life and was considered a friend to all that met him; if you knew him you were lucky!
