36 CHICAGO BECKER, LEW Lew Becker, 66, a long time resident of Wheaton passed away unexpectedly Feb.10, after a brief illness. Lew will be missed dearly by his wife of 45 years and best friend, Lois Becker. He was a loving father to his daughter, Lisa and his son, Scott (Rehna); a devoted brother to his sister, Elizabeth; and was whole-heartedly adored by his three grandchildren, John, Abby and Brooks. Lew was a very successful independent sales rep for over 40 years, most recently with Motionwear of Indianapolis, IN. passion was golf and was most happy when relaxing on the golf course at Arrowhead or at his second home in Naples, FL with his wife, family and friends.

Lew will be remembered for his gift of coaching baseball and football, his sense of humor, and most of all, for his love and devotion to his family. Lew was preceded in death by his father and mother, Louis and Elizabeth Becker. Visitation Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home 430 E.

Lynne graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy (NJ) and earned her BS in Nursing from Marquette University. The perfect mom, she loved to cheer on her children at their sporting events, rarely ever missing a practice or game. She was very active in area youth sports and served as the Equipment Director for Naperville Youth Football League. A Girl Scout herself, Lynne was a proud organizer of the Boy Scout Troop 507 and Cub Scout Pack 507. She loved her faith and was a Child Liturgist and Eucharistic Minister at St.

While family was his first, second, and third priority, he was a dynamic man who was not content to sit still unless it involved watching football.

He owned and operated Pharmacy in Evanston, IL for over 30 years. And when he retired to California, Leo started a second career in real estate. He was also and avid figure skater, bridge player, Cub Scout leader, photographer, and golfer, whose intellectual curiosity never grew old. He embraced the computer age with gusto and never stopped looking for new challenges. Leo crammed a lot of living into those 89 years while making everyone around him smile with his good humor and approach to life.

As husband, father, grandfather and friend, he leaves us all immeasurably better for having been a part of our lives. We will miss him deeply. Andy was Born: May 15, 1931in Chicago, IL the son of the late Andrew and Chrisanthe (Mazos) Calas and he died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. Andy was founder and owner of Andrews Paperboard which he began in 1975 in Elk Grove Village. He welcomed his entire family to contribute to the companies success. He continued as CEO until his retirement in 2000.

Following his retirement he enjoyed volunteering with the Salvation Army in Des Plaines. Many years ago Andy was very involved with coaching in the Waycinden Park Little League and Mt. Prospect Midget Football. Some of his hobbies included a love of travel, dancing, playing Bridge and golfing at River Forest Country Club where he was a long time member. Andy will be remembered for his sense of humor, persevering spirit and deep sense of generosity.

DEATHS IN THE NEWS Harris For two decades, the Rev. Matthew D. McDonaldwas a fixture at extra-alarm fires in Chicago. Dressed in his white fire helmet and coat, he was there for firefighters and fire victims alike, offering a bit of solace amid the mayhem. The Chicago Fire chaplain from 1968 to 1987, he was known to the firefighters as or, for those who knew him best, whole ministry was a ministry of presence, and it was being present to the firefighters and paramedics especially at times of crisis, but also in the good times and the happy said the Rev.

Father McDonald, 94, died of natural causes Wednesday, Feb. 10, in Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, said his sister, Therese Kowal. He was a priest at St. parish in the West Town neighborhood when the Archdiocese of Chicago tapped him to become the Catholic chaplain for the Fire Department.

We all feel that Father father came to the United States from Ireland in 1907and started a 31-year career with the Fire Department in 1916. Father McDonald, who later told his family he knew he wanted to be apriest by the time he was 12, attended Quiqley Preparatory Seminary for high school and St. Mary of the Seminary before being ordained in May 1940. He was a dedicated golfer and took regular summer vacations to lakes in northern Michigan and Wisconsin, where he water-skied into his 70s. After leaving the Chicago Fire Department, he spent several years as chaplain to fire department and was apriest at St.

Joan of Arc parish in Evanston. Father McDonald also is survived by a brother, John. Visitation is set for 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave.Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
