Mautner, 90. Beloved husband of Adrianne Bucholtz Mautner nee 'X' Gibbs and the late Beverly Ann nee Gnau, Nancy Sister Nancy Gnau, a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, and a native of Dayton, OH, died on January 8, 2017, at the age of 86 in the 69th year of her religious life. Her passing is mourned by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, by her sisters. Norma Schweller and Mary Richard, her sister-in-law, Shirley Gnau, and many devoted nieces, nephews and friends. Sister Nancy taught at schools in Cincinnati, Columbus and Wyoming, Ohio, and was teacher and principal at Julienne High School in Dayton and Notre Dame High School in Chicago as well as teacher and Executive Director at Chaminade-Julienne High School in Dayton.

After her time in formal education. Sister Nancy was director of development and facilities manager at Mt. Notre Dame Convent in Cincinnati. Sister moved to Mount Notre Dame Health Center in 2001 where she continued to be of service to the community as payroll clerk and finance assistant. In 2012, Sister Nancy began her ministry of prayer and presence to the Health Center Community.

The visitation will take place Friday, January 13, 2017, from at Mount Notre Dame Health Center, 699 E. Columbia Avenue, Cincinnati, OH (513-821-7448), followed by the Mass of Christian burial and interment. They moved to Lake Forest in 1963. She was active in the Women's Club of Evanston and was a volunteer for the Hadley School for the Blind. In her position as Commissioner on the Edmond and Alice Opler Foundation, Joan was able to provide financial support to local charities for the past 25 years and was recognized by Lake Forest Hospital for their continuous support. At the Lake Forest Place she was active in the Dollars for Scholars program, which gave her great joy.

However her most treasured role was as a Mother and Grandmother. A private memorial service is planned for family members.
