Adeline Duval, the young French-Canadian who shot Edward Quivit at the National Hotel Tuesday, was again before Justice Meech yesterday morning.

She looked pale and dejected, and when Quivit stepped forward with his head all bandaged up she made an attempt to address him, but he shranK back behind an officer, muttering: "I haf nutin' to say to you." Mr. Linscott, the attorney for the prisoner, said he was not ready with his witnesses, and the case was continued till next Wednesday. An officer remarked to Quivit, "You can easily bo here then. You only work three or four blocks away." Quivit, with an air of determination, replied: I vould come eef cet vere feel ty blocks avay." Tiiden. The city rectors were requested to nominate a sub-committee on finance, which is to bo composed of one or more laymen from each parish. The committee then adjourned to Jan 4. The General Convention meets triennially, the sessions immediately preceding having been held in Philadelphia, Now York, and Boston, and is composed of four clergymen and four laymen from each of the sixty-flve dioceses in the United States. The sessions continue about three weeks, although they may last longer at the coming convention, as the revision of the prayer-book will come before it and constitute the leading topic of its deliberations.
