Mrs. Bartelme lived on La Salle street near Oak street at the time of the Chicago fire in 1871. She was a rr ember of the Chicago Historical society. Selma Erikson, 82, of 1008 Grove Winnetka, died Friday in the home of a daughter in Denver, where she lived part of the time. She was the widow of Charles F. Erikson, who was a member of the Chicago board of education at the time of his death in 1913. He also had been owner of the Swedish Tribune News. Mrs.

This case, fought thru to the Illinois Supreme court, decided one of the most important points of libel law in favor of The Tribune, which Mayor William Hale Big Bill Thompson had sued for libeling his city government. Joins Firm in 1924 Mr. Wilson was born in Chicago and was a graduate and trustee of Illinois Wesleyan university. He was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1905, and joined the Kirkland firm in 1924. He was special assistant attorney general in charge of the Illinois toll road land acquisition program and was engaged in land acquisition for the Northwest and South expressways.

Roy Ewing Vale, 73, onetime moderator of the general assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States, died Thursday night in Winter Park, it was learned here Friday. Dr. Vale was pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Oak Park from 1921 to 1930 and was pastor emeritus of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis. His body is to be returned to Indianapolis for burial. While in Oak Park, he had served as a member of the church extension board of Chicago Presbytery.
