The group, called the Showteens, is made up of youths from Hammond, East Chicago, Munster, and Whiting. The youths have earned more than $3,000 since June to pay for their tour.

They have performed, sold ads in programs, and contacted businesses. Ail in the group have musical training and want to make the tour to project the ideal image of vibrant, American youth. While in Germany, they will sing in largs and small cities, tour East and West Berlin, and meet officials. One of their performances is at The International Hotel, Frankfort, for the Kiwanis club there, arranged with help from the Hammond Kiwanis club. They also will perform aboard the T.
