LANGUAGE SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED The establishment of the Ana Jule Calderwood memorial scholarship fund to assist students majoring in the Romance languages at the University of Chicago was announced yesterday. The fund was established by Howard N. Calderwood, retired chemistry teacher and inde-dendent consultant on water pollution and wood products chemistry, in memory of his late wife. Mrs. Calderwood, who died April 5, 1965, was graduated with honors in 1905 from the University of Chicago, where she majored in the Romance languages.

She later joined the faculty of the university's extension division and taught Spanish from 1907 to 1909. She also taught at the University of Kansas. Luke Hospital. Killed in Bombing In the end, it did not make any difference. Pfc. Knudsen was one of 17 men killed Saturday when a marine plane accidentally dropped two bombs into the middle of a marine company fighting 5 miles south of the demilitarized zone. His father was informed of the death yesterday. Knudsen, a radio operator, had been in South Viet Nam since August He had enlisted in the marines in October, 1965, and was inducted last February.

A graduate of Chicago Vocational High school, Knudsen had worked for the United Steel corporation.
