In a statement released in Kampala, Uganda, Saturday night after talks began OAU chairman Idi Amin, the Ugandan president, and OAU Secretary General Eteki Mboumoua, the 46-nation organization said there was no longer any point in trying to negotiate a constitutional settlement in Rhodesia. Obituaries Mrs. Joseph F. Bigane Sr. Mass for Catherine J. Bigane, 82, daughter of one Cook County Board president and sister of another, will be at 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday in St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, 4107 W. 107th Oak Lawn. Mrs. Bigane died Friday in a hospital in Scottsdale, her winter home.

Mrs. Bigane a and her husband, Joseph, president of Bigane Coal, Oil Paving were longtime South Shore residents. Her father, Daniel Ryan, was president of the County Board in 1921 and 1922, and her brother, Daniel, also held the post from 1955 until his death in 1961. Mrs. Bigane was active in many civic and religious organizations.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Edwaru three daughters, Mrs. Mary B. Hoffman, Mrs. Patricia McGrane, and Mrs. Alice Heller; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

William Stallman Services for William Stallman, 78, former general manager of Vaughan's Seed 5300 Katrine Downers Grove, will be at 1 p. m. Monday in the chapel at 9200 N. Skokie Skokie. Mr.

Stallman, who retired from' the seed company in 1971 after working there 52 years, died Friday in North Miami Beach, where he resided. Mr. Stallman was a member of Haven Lodge B'nai B'rith. He is survived by his widow, Bertha; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Sherer; a son, Edwin; two brothers; two sisters; and seven grandchildren.
