Van, a 25-year veteran of stage, television, and movies, last appeared as the emcee on the television series "Make Me Laugh." He had a long list of movie credits, including "Kiss Me Kate'' and "That's Entertainment Part II." Van did a nightclub act with Mickey Rooney for seven years and starred with his wife, Elaine Joyce, In a television special. He made frequent appearances on the Ed Sullivan and Jackie Gleason shows and was host of the Mrs.

America Pageant for the last four years. VAN WAS ONE of the last of the MGM contract players along with Debbie Reynolds, Elizabeth Taylor, and Donald O'Connor. He appeared In 9 movies, 24 television series or specials, and in 1971 won a Tony nomination for his starring role in No Nanette" on Broadway. Van had appeared in the last few years on' several television series, Including "Vegas," "Love Boat," and "Fantasy Island." Saturday in St. Eulalia Catholic Church, 1845 S. 9th Maywood. Powers was found dead in his car Wednesday in the parking lot of Westlake Community Hospital, Melrose Park. Melrosa Park police said they believe Powers died after learning that his wife, Mary, who had been a patient in the hospital since Sunday, also had died Wednesday.

The Cook County Medical examiner's office ruled Thursday that Powers died of natural causes. Powers, of Broadview, was co-owner of Computer Supplies, Franklin Park. He and his wife were active in community affairs. Survivors include two sons, Edward and David; a daughter, Mary Kay; Mrs. Powers' two brothers; and five mothers and two sisters of Mr.

Powers. Mrs. Edward W. Coyne Mass for Mrs. Margaret Coyne, 65.

Blmnthal Mass for John J. Blumthal, 63. a retired leasing manager for the Bill Jacobs Chevrolet dealership in Joliet, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 132 Arthur Elmhurst. Mr.

Blumthal, who lived in Elmhurst, died Wednesday in Minneapolis. He is survived by his wife, Lois; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Kostouros and Janet; three sons, John, Bill, and Tom; three grandchildren; two sisters; and three brothers. Mrs. Bernlce Goralski Mass for Mrs.

She helped found the Beth Emet Synagng in 1950 and also assisted her husband, Harry, in a Loop mail order advertising firm before his death in 1954.

Survivors include a son, Earle; a sister; and three grandchildren. Miss Margaret M. Doyle Funeral services for Margaret M. "Peggie" Doyle, 93, will he at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St.

Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Church, 5852 W. Beldrm Av. Mr. Kusmierski, of the Northwest Side, died Tuesday at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park. He was retired from the Teletype Corp.
