Stowell 's parents had a Vaudeville show called "Oriental Oddities Magic Act" during which he and his sister, Bernice, interchanged roles when performing their magic tricks. The first show was with Jack Benny and several shows were performed with Houdini. After a spell in show business, he returned to school, excelling in sports, especially swimming. In high school, he swam in a competition judged by Johnny Weissmuller. Quitting school to sup- Cort his family, Edgar started as an errand boy in ong Lake, learning commercial art.

He became an illustrator, specializing in shoes. Joining the Army, WWII, stationed in Texas, he was in charge of the Army Technical Illustration Studio, producing manuals for tanks, etc. Mr. Stowell met his future wife, Eunice Green, and after an honorable discharge, both moved to Chicago and married in 1946. They owned and operated a restaurant together and Edgar returned to art, purchasing his own studio in 1954, which they both ran.

They purchased a farm in 1958, running both until 1970, when they ceased the farm management. Their first vacation was to Florida in 1971, purchasing a home in Highland Beach, moving here permanently In 1976, still running the studio till 1985. Mr. Stowell was an avid golfer and he and his wife, Eunice, enjoyed doing things together until her death in Dec. 1992.

Member of Church of Christ, Boca Raton, FL. Survived by one son, Charles Stowell of Boca Raton; two daughters, Nancy Stowell ot San Diego, CA. and Susan Stowell Whitman of Boca Raton; one sister, Bernice Stowell ot Acosta, grandchildren: Tom Stowell and Cheryl Weaver of Kimberly Stowell ot Boca Raton, Anne Schaetfer and DeWitt Sturdivant of Judl Mills of KY. and Gloria and Daniel Whitman of Boca Raton; two great-grandchildren, Addison Sturdivant of CA. and Megan Weaver of IL.
